Interaction

Hi everyone! Based on Isabel María's task using Wordwall for learning about I like / I don't like, I am going to use this tool for learning the process of making questions with DO. Firstly, this is the progression we will follow:  Review "I like / I don't like":  revisiting the Wordwall activity to activate prior knowledge. Students should be comfortable expressing their likes and dislikes. Introduce Questions with "Do":  connecting the "I like" structure to the question form "Do you like...?" Practice:  engaging students in asking and answering "Do you like...?" questions. Final Task:  designing a task that requires students to use the learned question structure in a meaningful and communicative way. The final task will be based on  "Find Someone Who". So, students have a worksheet with items, and they need to find classmates who like those items by asking "Do you like...?" questions. Task outline: Pr...

Colleagues' blogs

Hi everyone! I'll post my personal opinion about some mates' blogs. The first one is Victoria's blog. The blog is a fantastic resource for English language learners and teachers! The content is clearly organized, with a wide variety of engaging materials like games, songs, worksheets, and links to external resources. The visual design is bright, cheerful, and very appealing, making it feel like a welcoming space for learning.  Additionally, while the organization is good, perhaps adding a more prominent search bar or tag system could make it even easier for users to find specific types of activities or grammar points they are looking for. Finally, incorporating more interactive elements directly within the blog posts (like embedded quizzes or short polls) could further enhance student engagement. Overall, "Little English Corner" is a valuable and inspiring blog. I believe it provides a rich collection of practical and fun materials that can significantly support ...

Working with Genailly

Hello everyone!  I'm happy to share details about our recent student project, which saw incredible engagement and creativity thanks to the versatile tool, Genially. This project aimed to science in the English world. We were thrilled with the results and the innovative ways our students brought their learning to life. To ensure a smooth and structured process, we followed these stages: Stage 1: Choose Topic and Establish Groups  Students were presented with a list of potential project topics related to science in the English world. We facilitated a brainstorming session where students could also propose their own topics, subject to approval. Following topic selection, students had the opportunity to form groups of 3-4 members based on shared interests. Stage 2: Choose Modality of Genially and Initial Research  Students explored the various interactive formats offered by Genially (presentations, infographics, interactive images, escape rooms, etc.). Each group discussed an...

Working with StoryJumper.

Hi everyone! I guided my students to create digital storybooks about their families using Storyjumper. For this project, I opted for individual work rather than groups. This allowed each student to focus on their unique family experiences and stories. If I were to use groups, I would have put them in pairs to help each other with technical aspects and creative ideas. Students began by brainstorming about their family members, special memories, and unique family traditions. They created a rough outline or storyboard of their story. Introduction to Storyjumper: I provided a tutorial on how to use Storyjumper, covering features like adding characters, backgrounds, text, and voice recordings. Students began building their digital storybooks on Storyjumper, adding text, images (either from Storyjumper's library or uploaded family photos), and creating their characters. Students completed a first draft of their story and then engaged in a peer-review process, providing feedback on clari...

Learning about clothes!

Hi everyone,  For this task, I selected the video “ Wormhole Learning: clothes ” because it provides a clear, engaging, and visually appealing explanation of the topic. The animations and real-world examples make it easier for students to grasp the key concepts while keeping them actively engaged. Learning Objectives & Sequence of Activities The main learning objectives for this session were: 1. [Objective 1] – To learn about the topic vocabulary. 2. [Objective 2] – To identify the clothes and describe them. 3. [Objective 3] – To communicate with other people and share information about the topic. 4. [Objective 4] – To write words in the FL related to clothes. To meet these objectives, I structured the session as follows: 1. Pre-task (before watching the video): • Students answered a few warm-up questions to activate prior knowledge. • We discussed any misconceptions they had about the topic. 2. Main Activity (watching & engaging with t...

Nowadays, we can read using different digital devices that make simpler the access to reading. Reading using a screen is the norm instead of printed editions , although there are many supporters who prefer the feeling and touching of the pages.  The type of texts that people read today are online newspapers and text messages in the smartphones. Apart from these, I believe people read novels and stories about f uturistic worlds and history . People usually choose themselves the books they are going to read but it is also important to have word-of-mouth recommendations from other people. Looking at the photos, the people reading might feel engaged and relaxed . If they are deeply immersed in a book, they could be feeling curious, excited, or even emotional, depending on the content. Reading ca...
