Learning about clothes!

 Hi everyone,

For this task, I selected the video “Wormhole Learning: clothes” because it provides a clear, engaging, and visually appealing explanation of the topic. The animations and real-world examples make it easier for students to grasp the key concepts while keeping them actively engaged.

Learning Objectives & Sequence of Activities

The main learning objectives for this session were:

1. [Objective 1] – To learn about the topic vocabulary.

2. [Objective 2] – To identify the clothes and describe them.

3. [Objective 3] – To communicate with other people and share information about the topic.

4. [Objective 4] – To write words in the FL related to clothes.

To meet these objectives, I structured the session as follows:

1. Pre-task (before watching the video):

Students answered a few warm-up questions to activate prior knowledge.

We discussed any misconceptions they had about the topic.

2. Main Activity (watching & engaging with the video):

Students watched the video individually and took notes on key points.

I provided guiding questions to help them focus on essential details.

3. Post-task (applying the knowledge):

In pairs, students discussed their takeaways and answered reflection prompts.

We conducted a whole-class discussion to clarify doubts.

As a final task, students created a short [e.g., summary, infographic, presentation] to demonstrate                 their understanding.

Flipped Classroom Approach

I partially flipped the classroom by assigning the video for pre-class viewing and asking students to take notes. This allowed for more in-depth discussions and application-based activities during the lesson. By having prior exposure to the content, students were more confident in analyzing and discussing the topic.

High Points of the Experience

Engagement: The students found the video visually appealing and easy to follow.

Critical Thinking: The guiding questions helped them engage with the content more deeply.

Collaboration: The post-video discussions encouraged peer learning and a better understanding of the topic.

Areas for Improvement

More Interactive Elements: Next time, I could add embedded quizzes using EdPuzzle or Google Forms to check comprehension during the video.

Follow-up Application Task: I could have students apply their learning by creating their own explainer videos or conducting a short experiment related to the topic.

Overall, the use of this video enhanced understanding and engagement, proving that well-structured audiovisual resources are valuable tools in the learning process.

  1. Hi, Javier.
I have enjoyed a lot with your blog since all is very clearly explained into different steps and it's very didactic.
Perhaps, I would include more colors or images to make it even more attractive but I have liked it a lot.
